Once you have prepared the mask, apply it to your face or body in a thin, even layer. Avoid the eye area. Let the mask sit for 10-15 minutes, or until it dries completely. Once dry, rinse the mask off with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft towel.
Our clay face mask powders can be used once or twice a week, depending on your skin type. If you have dry skin, you may want to use a clay mask less often to avoid over-drying. If you have oily skin, you can use a clay mask more often to help control oil production.
Here are some tips for making and using clay face masks:
- Use a non-metal bowl and spoon to mix the mask, as metal can react with the clay and reduce its effectiveness.
- Only add enough water or floral water to create a smooth paste. If the mask is too runny, it will be difficult to apply.
- Avoid applying the mask to the eye area, as this can irritate your eyes.
- If you have sensitive skin, do a patch test on a small area of your skin before using the clay mask all over your face.
- Rinse the mask off thoroughly with lukewarm water to avoid any irritation. Follow up with your favourite moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
